TUCSON, Ariz. – Senior Rafael Quintero was named the Pac-12 Diver of the Month for the month of December, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced on Wednesday.
Diving at the USA Diving Winter National Championships, Quintero earned a silver medal in the platform with a score of 1414.60. The senior's runner-up performance came in a field of 21 divers that included participants from No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Stanford, No. 17 USC and No. 22 Duke.
The citation marks the third time Quintero has been named Pac-12 Diver of the Month three times, making him the second Wildcat in history to be a three-time honoree. Overall, Arizona has six all-time monthly diving honors, tied for the second-most in the league with Stanford.
Up Next: The women's team takes on Oregon State, NAU and New Mexico State on Friday. Quintero and the men's team will be in action next of Jan. 22 at California.
