PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – 37th-ranked
Lauren Marker competed in one of the most elite college tennis tournaments in the country on Tuesday, as she battled in the Riviera ITA All-American Championships.Â

In her first match of the day, Marker took on No. 47 Kimmy Guerin of Wake Forest. While the two are ranked closely together, Marker was able to easily handle her opponent. She won the first set 6-0, before concluding the match with a 6-1 second set victory.

She advanced to play in the qualifying semifinals against No. 56 Gabriela Talaba of Texas Tech. The match didn't go in Marker's favor, as she fell in straight sets, 6-2 6-1, which ended her tournament.

UP NEXT
Marker and the Wildcats won't have to wait too long to get back on the court, as they are scheduled to play in the Sonoma State University Fall Invitational. The tournament is set to take place in Rohnert Park, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 15-16.
