Diving Highlights
The Arizona women have competed in four events so far this season and the men, three. The women's top scores in the 1-meter are senior
Sally Hackett (272.25), senior
Karolyn Loftus (262.43), junior
Kaitlin Costello (256.35) and junior
Haley Blount (202.58). The top scores in the 3-meter include Hackett (289.65), Loftus (263.40), Costello (238.13) and Blount (200.70).
The lone male diver, freshman
Casey Ponton has a high score of 236.10 in the 1-meter and 257.75 in the 3-meter.
Against No. 5 USC, Hackett and Loftus both notched runner-up finishes. Hackett took second in the 3-meter with her season-high score while Loftus placed second in the 1-meter with 260.40.
Looking at the Competition
The Cats will be competing against divers from Texas, Arizona State, California, Hawai'i, TCU and North Texas. Arizona has already competed against Hawai'i this season as senior
Sally Hackett took first in the 3-meter with a score of 267.25. She was followed by senior
Karolyn Loftus (263.40). Junior
Kaitlin Costello finished seventh with 228.70. In the 1-meter, Loftus took third with a score of 251.30.
Freshman
Casey Ponton placed third in both the 1-meter and 3-meter against Hawai'i with scores of 224.60 and 257.75, respectively.
History at the Texas Invite
This will be the fifth annual men's and women's Texas Diving Invitational. Arizona historically has hosted the Wildcat Diving Invitational (since the 2008-09 season), but will instead compete at the UT Diving Invitational this season.
