Collins Kibet Takes Home Pac-12 800-Meter Title

SEATTLE, Wash. – Arizona's track and field team was out in Seattle for day two of the Pac-12 Championships hosted by the University of Washington.

“I thought we competed exceptionally well.” Head Coach Fred Harvey said. “Collins winning the championship was definitely big, and when you stop and think about Nnenya's performance on a national level you see those marks are at the top level.”

Collins Kibet was the lone Pac-12 Champion for Arizona taking first in the 800-meter race today at 1:47.23. Yesterday he broke the Husky Track record in the prelims with a time of 1:48.46, a mark that he topped today.

"This is the best moment for me after years of working." Kibet said. "The race went very well. By all means the goal was to win."
