Los Angeles, CA - Arizona Track & Field completed their first outdoor meet of the 2026 season this weekend with the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival and Jim Bush Legends Meet at UCLA.
The Wildcats won three events and totaled 10 top-three finishes. Freshman
Vincent Gwachi led the team this weekend, winning two events in the Men's 800m and Men's 5000m.
Jett Kinder also brought back a win in the Men's Javelin.

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
Jett Kinder won the men's javelin with a throw of 211-8 (64.53m). On the women's side,
Erin Tack finished third in the javelin with a throw of 151-9 (46.27m).
Emily Psarras finished fifth in the event with a personal best throw of 144-1 (43.92m).
Haedyn Bambolo finished second in the women's shot put with a throw of 50-7.25 (15.42m). On the men's side,
Sam Hala'Ufia finished third in the shot put with a throw of 60-1.25 (18.32m).
Michael Ogbeiwi finished eighth in the event with a throw of 54-0 (16.46m).
Sam Hala'Ufia finished third in the men's discus with a throw of 181-5 (55.30m).
Richard Legarra finished seventh in the event with a throw of 173-1 (52.76m).
Moses Hala'Ufia finished ninth in the event with a throw of 169-10 (51.77m).
Emma Gates finished third in the women's high jump with a height of 5-10 (1.78m). Gates is coming off an All-American finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the high jump.
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
Vincent Gwachi won the men's 5000m with a time of 14:04.16. Gwachi also won the men's 800m with a time of 1:49.49. This was the freshman's first outdoor meet of his career.
Kai Espinosa-Golinski finished tenth in the men's 800m with a time of 1:52.95
Amelia North finished second in the women's 10000m with a time of 36:24.14.
Cooper Quigley finished second in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:24.17.
Kara Mickelson finished fourth in the women's 800m with a time of 2:09.06.
UP NEXT
The Wildcats next meet is on April 11th, where they will host the Dual in the Desert between Arizona and Arizona State at Drachman Stadium.
