LAWRENCE, Kan. –The Event: Arizona's track and field team will send a select group of athletes off to Kansas University this weekend for the NCAA West Regionals.

Who is Competing: Competing for the men this week will be Aaron Castle, Gerhard De Beer, Michael Demby, Daniel Egbo, Blake Eichler, Viktor Gardenkrans, Michael Godbout, Bryce Houston, Collins Kibet, Miles Parish, Bailey Roth, and Pau Tonnesen. For the women it will be Jasper Gray, Claire Green, Lisanne Hagens, Traci Hicks, Emma Ljungberg, Alyssa Thompson, Gia Trevisan, Katelin Warren, Sage Watson, and Addi Zerrenner.
Hailey Out Indefinitely: Senior Hurdler Nnenya Hailey will not compete in the NCAA West Regionals and is out indefinitely with a lower leg injury. Hailey had a top-two mark in the 400-meter hurdles and broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles earlier this season.
De Beer Dominates the Discus: After putting in some serious work in the weight room with throws coach T.J Crater, Gerhard De Beer set a new personal record in the discus throw at 203 ft. - 3 in. (61.97m) at the Tucson Elite Classic. That is a top-five mark in the country this season, and the fourth best in Arizona history.
Watson Shines at Tucson Elite: The 400-meter Hurdle race at the Tucson Elite was registered with IAAF and therefore doesn't register with the NCAA, but Sage Watson ran a new personal record at 54.82 seconds. That mark would stand as the second best in the country and is currently the seventh best in the world and sixth in Pac-12 history. Watson's training partner and Arizona alum Georganne Moline ran a world-leading time at 53.98 seconds in the race Saturday night.
