RIO DE JANEIRO – Former Wildcat, Rafael Quintero closed out his Olympic debut on Saturday with a seventh-place finish in the men's 10m platform in Rio de Janeiro. Quintero inched his way up in the standings to ultimately take seventh with a total score of 485.35, improving each round.

Earlier Saturday morning, Quintero finished seventh in the semifinal, scoring 471.20. He was one of 12 to make the final. 

The diver placed sixth in the preliminary on Friday with 456.55, where the top 18  of 28 advanced.

Quintero was the fifth diver and second male in Arizona history to qualify for the Olympics.
