Arizona Looks to Remain Unbeaten Against Sacramento State, UTEP

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona (3-0) will host its second consecutive weekend double-header against Sacramento State and UTEP this Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. MST, respectively. These will be the Wildcats' fourth and fifth consecutive matches at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz.

"We are coming off a great performance against Tulane yesterday, so our spirits are high," said head coach Vicky Maes. "However, we will need to be vigilant as playing two teams back to back requires an enormous amount of focus. Both Sac State and UTEP are good teams and we must be ready to play hard all day."

Previously
On Thursday, Arizona defeated Tulane by a score of 5-2. After losing a tightly-contested doubles point, the Cats bounced back by winning five of the six singles matches. No. 18 Lauren Marker started the singles off with a quick two set victory, and No. 89 Samantha Czarniak clinched the match. The two seniors also won their doubles match.

The Opposition
Sacramento State (1-2), coached by Clarisse Baca, is coming off a 4-3 loss to UC Davis. Meanwhile, UTEP (1-4) is coached by Roberto Aspillaga. They suffered a 4-1 defeat to Tulane, in Tucson, on Friday.

Admission to the match is free of charge. LaNelle Robson Tennis Center is located just east of Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium on 2nd street and Campbell Ave.
