COLLEGE STATION, Texas. – Three Wildcats were in action today to kick off day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships hosted in College Station, Texas.
"Today was a great day to be a Wildcat," head coach Fred Harvey said. "Our goal as a team was to have everyone score and become first-team All-Americans. We earned two of those honors today, and we are looking forward to Sage competing in the 400-meter finals tomorrow with the third overall time."
Sage Watson qualified for the 400-meter final tomorrow with a time of 52.09 seconds. That time was third-best in the field.
Reigning MPSF Conference champion Lisanne Hagens took eighth overall in the high jump at 1.81 meters (5' 11.25"), earning first-team All-America honors.
Aaron Castle finished in eighth-place in the shot put with a mark of 19.20 meters (63' 0"). He was also able to earn first-team All-America honors.
Tomorrow the Track Cats will have freshman Justice Summerset competing in the high jump, Watson in the 400-meter final and Claire Green in the 3,000-meter race.
