COLLEGE STATION, Texas. – After day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships saw Arizona earn two first-team All-America honors in the form of seniors Lisanne Hagens and Aaron Castle, they were able to add two more first-team and one second-team recognition today.
"I am so proud of how our athletes handled themselves at this Championship," head coach Fred Harvey said. "This is the hardest NCAA Championship to qualify for and score in. Sage and Justice did a fantastic job, Sage broke her own school record and Justice was the top freshman high jumper in the country."
After Sage Watson qualified for the 400-meter final yesterday with a time of 52.09 seconds she went on to break her own school record in the final at 51.84 seconds for third overall and first-team All-America honors.
True freshman Justice Summerset made his mark on the country by taking seventh-place for first-team All-America honors in the high jump at 2.20 meters (7' 2.5").
Claire Green took 16th overall in the 3,000-meter race and earned second-team All-America honors.
The outdoor season starts at home next weekend with the Willie Williams Classic on March 17-18th.
