TUCSON, ARIZ. – The University of Arizona men's golf team will travel to Boulder, Colorado to compete in the 58th edition of the Pac-12 Conference Championships hosted by the University of Colorado. Play is set to begin on Friday, April 28th with the Cats teeing off at 6:30 a.m. MST. The conference championships will be held at the par-70, 7,002 yard Boulder Country Club.
 
"Our team has been looking forward to the Pac-12 Championships since we wrapped up in Santa Cruz," commented head men's golf coach Jim Anderson. "We have played very consistently down the stretch and we are starting the next phase of our season at the Pac-12 Championships at a perfect time. The guys have had a great week preparing for the type of course we expect to see in Boulder. One variable we will have to adapt to quickly is the weather. Luckily, we have seen very adverse conditions in the last two events so I know we have a mentally tough group. The key will be reducing each day, hole, shot down to the simplest form.  When we focus five feet in front of where we are, we are very good. Patience and commitment will be of equal importance."
 
Making the trip to Boulder for the Cats will be juniors George Cunningham and Jordan Gumberg, freshmen David Laskin and Brad Reeves, junior Ethan Marcus, and sophomore Dylan Stein.
 
Gumberg is the top-returning finisher from last year's Pac-12 Championship where he finished 2nd with a score of 276 (-8).
 
Anderson continued; "This will be a fun week for a great group of guys. As a coach, I want to put them in a position and mindset where they are having so much fun on the golf course. Also, as a player, you have limited opportunities to play in championships with a team. This week will be one of those 'most memorable' experience for our Wildcats."
