TUCSON, Ariz. – The Jim Click Shootout kicked-off today with multi events, Arizona had one athlete, Dion Shattuck-Baker, competing in the decathlon.
Shattuck-Baker started the day in the 100-meter race where he ran a time of 11.79 seconds. He went on to finish with the third-best long jump mark of the field at 6.79 meters (22' 3.5"). In the high jump he cleared a mark of 1.97 meters (6' 5.5"), the second-best mark of the field. Overall, Shattuck-Baker ended day one with 3,433 points and stands in fifth-place overall.
Shattuck-Baker will be back in action for day two of the Jim Click Multi's starting with the 110-meter hurdles at 10 am. PST.
