Arizona Finishes Second at the PING ASU Invitational

The University of Arizona women's golf team completed play on Sunday at the PING ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. The Wildcats finished in second place shooting two-over for the day and five-under for the tournament.
"The ladies struggled a little today, but fought hard," said coach Laura Ianello. "Jessica Vasilic came up huge finishing at two-under. It was a fantastic showing by Krystal Quihuis, finishing at seven-under. We built some great momentum going into the Pac-12 Championships in Tucson. I'm proud of the ladies, they had a little pressure on them only playing with four players, but it was good for us and helped us get tougher."
Junior Krystal Quihuis finished in third place after posting a round of 71. Sophomore Haley Moore carded a round of 73 and finished in a tie for fifth place at three-under-par. Senior Jessica Vasilic shot a strong round of 70 to finish in a tie for 14th place. Sophomore Gigi Stoll carded a 76 on the day and finished in a tie for 29th. Senior Wanasa Zhou did not compete in the third round.
Junior Natalia Forero competing as an individual, finished in a tie for 49th place after shooting a round of 77. Freshman Sandra Nordaas, also competing as an individual posted a round of 75 and finished in 49th place.
Moore now has seven top-10 finishes this season and eight inside of the top-12. This was Quihuis' third top-10 finish and the 13th of her career.
Arizona State won the team competition finishing at 25-under-par. Roberta Liti of ASU won the individual competition shooting 10-under for the tournament.
Arizona will next compete in the Pac-12 Championships hosted by Arizona at Sewailo Golf Club on April 24-26.
