Edior Triples Twice in 8-0 Arizona Win

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senior catcher Hillary Edior went 3-for-3 with two triples and four RBI, leading the Wildcats to an 8-0 victory over Pima College on Monday afternoon at Pima West Campus.
Three Arizona pitchers combined to throw a one-hit shutout, Arizona's sixth shutout in as many tries this fall. Sophomore Hanah Bowen pitched the first two innings and struck out all six batters she faced before turning it over to a pair of freshmen in the circle. Vanessa Foreman pitched the next two innings and allowed one hit while striking out two and walking one before Marissa Schuld pitched the final three innings and struck out six and walked one while not allowing a hit.
UA outhit Pima 12-1 in the 8-0 victory. Edior led the way with three while Rylee Pierce went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored.
Seven of the Cats' eight runs came in the first two innings before being held to just one run over the next five.
The UA offense wasted little time, as the Cats batted around and scored four runs in the top of the first inning. Rylee Pierce, Dejah Mulipola, Malia Martinez and Ivy Davis all brought in run for the Cats in the first.
The Cats added three more in the second when Hillary Edior tripled home three with two out.
Edior notched her second RBI triple in as many at-bats when she tripled to right center to plate a run and give the Cats an 8-0 lead.
The game is the penultimate of the fall for the Wildcats, who are 6-0 and outscoring their opponents 65-0 so far in fall ball. UA wraps up the exhibition slate on Wednesday vs. Pima at 2:30 p.m. at Pima College West.
