LUBBOCK, Texas – Arizona's match against No. 8 Texas Tech ended in a 4-0 loss, which drops them to 7-3 in the season.  

Texas Tech cruised through the doubles matches, winning on courts two and three by scores of 6-1 and 6-2, respectively, leaving the third match unfinished.
 
The Raiders' success continued when senior No. 98 Sabrina Federici defeated freshman Gitte Heynemans 6-1, 6-0 on court three. Junior Lana Rush won over junior Sophia Thomas on court six, 6-1, 6-2. Texas Tech sealed the match when senior No. 7 Gabriela Talaba defeated Arizona freshman Mary Lewis 7-5, 6-0 on court one.
 
"The better team won today," said head coach Vicky Maes. "Tech came after us fast and furious in the doubles and we never got our footing. However, I feel we came back well in the singles. Things just started going our way when the match got clinched. Mila was playing great, Marie looked like she was going to close her match, and Talya had created a lot of good momentum. We will learn from this and build on it tomorrow."

The Wildcats will face North Carolina State on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. MST in Lubbock, Texas.
