Tucson, Ariz. – Senior Karolina Pahlitzsch earned Pac-12 women's track athlete of the week award. The Berlin, Germany native checked in as the first ladies track athlete of the week following her performance at the Willie Williams Classic.
 
"This is really exciting that she was able to win the Pac-12 ladies track athlete of the week considering she was running an off event," said head track and field coach Fred Harvey. "We are trying to get her prepped for the 400-meter hurdles at the Jim Click Shootout. This is really an exciting thing and what I love most about it is that she is not looking at this as a secondary event, she is challenging herself as if this her own event."
 
Pahlitzsch competed in the 800-meter run and was tabbed in as the second leg of the ladies 4x400-meter relay. The senior clocked a time of 2:08.27 in the 800-meter run to take first in the contest, and set the No. 2 mark on the NCAA list. In the 4x400-meter relay, Pahlitzsch contributed to the squad earning a mark of 3:39.29, good for a first place finish and the No. 2 mark on the NCAA list.
 
Up next, Pahlitzsch and the Cats will compete in the Aztec Invitational on Friday, May 23rd.
