Recent grad Wright won the 200m butterfly on Day 1. His time of 1:54.63 earned him the national title.
Upcoming senior Konopka finished 5
th in the C final of the 100m free with 55.58. Konopka, in the women's 50m free, finished fifth in the B final with 25.39.
Incoming senior Dobbs placed 4
th in the men's 100m free with 49.83.
Training in Tucson, Smith finished runner-up in the 800m free with 8:22.79. Upcoming junior Cox placed 26
th in that race, with 8:43.57, and Jacobsen 31
st (8:46.63).
Recent grad Wieser placed 7
th in the men's 1500m free with 15:12.01 and 17
th (8:02.53) in the men's 800m free final.
Upcoming sophomore Fail placed 18
th in the 1500m (15:28.36) and the 800m (8:02.90).
Smith placed fourth in the 200m free with 1:56.93. Incoming junior Jacobsen finished fourth in the C final with 1:59.47.
Wieser finished 8
th in the C final in the men's 200m free with 1:51.54. Fail, with 1:50.58, finished fifth in the D final.
UA Alum Kevin Cordes finished 5
th in the 200 breast with 2:09.71. Upcoming sophomore Iida finished runner-up in the B final with 2:12.48.
Fail placed fifth in the D final with 2:02.90.
Dobbs earned bronze in the 50m fly with 23.38.
Smith finished fourth in the 400m IM with 4:35.68.
Cordes placed fourth in the 50m breast with 27.21. Konopka finished third in the C final of the women's 50m breast with 28.70.
Volunteer assistant Grevers finished fifth in the 50m back with 24.63, one-hundredth of a second behind fourth place.
Smith finished runner-up in the 400m free with 4:02.21, and Jacobsen placed eighth (4:11.14).
Wieser earns bronze in the 400m free with 3:48.92. Fail placed runner-up in the C final with 3:52.24.
Cordes finished runner-up in the 100m breast with 1:00.14 and Grevers placed second in the 100m back (52.55).
Iida placed sixth in the C final in the 200m IM with 2:02.48.
Konopka finished fifth in the B final with 25.39 in the 50m.
