Arizona Signs Nation's Top Recruiting Class

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Head coach Mike Candrea and Arizona softball has signed the nation's No. 1 recruiting class, according to Extra Inning Softball. Eight players -- Aris Carroll, Sophia Carroll, Jessie Fontes, Giulia Koutsoyanopulos, Devyn Netz, Jasmine Perezchica, Carlie Scupin and Allie Skaggs -- all signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to continue their softball careers at Arizona.

Five of the eight players are consensus top-100 recruits (Extra Inning Softball & FloSoftball), with all eight receiving a top-100 nod from at least one of the publications.

"We're extremely excited to welcome, what we think, is a very good class for next year," said head coach Mike Candrea. "This class has a good combination of accomplished hitters, good defensive players and some pitchers we think have a chance to be very good for us. As always, we need a few years before we can evaluate this class, but I'm thrilled to welcome these eight future Wildcats to the Arizona family."

The class includes two Gatorade State Players of the Year from 2019, their junior seasons: Arizona's Carlie Scupin and Kentucky's Allie Skaggs.
