TUCSON, Ariz. – On Thursday morning, Sam Thomas was named First Team Academic All-District by CoSIDA. Thomas, a 4.0 Psychology student, is one of Pac-12 student-athletes to be named to an Academic All-District Team.
 
With Thomas being named to the First Team, she automatically advances to the Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-Americans will be announced in mid-March.
 
Not only has the sophomore has been outstanding in the classroom, she has really been getting it done on the floor as of late. Over her last six games, she is averaging 12.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 46% from three.
 
She is Arizona's third-leading scorer at 9.5 points per game and is the only player in the Pac-12 to be in the top five in both steals (1.8) and blocks per game (1.3).
 
Thomas and the Wildcats are headed to the Bay Area this weekend for a pair of crucial games. Arizona will start the final road conference series against No. 7 Stanford on Friday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. MST.
