Arizona Women's Basketball Adds Emily Meinert as Performance Enhancement Assistant Coach

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Women's Basketball head coach Becky Burke has announced the addition of Emily Meinert as the program's Performance Enhancement Assistant Coach.

Meinert arrives in Tucson after spending the past two seasons with the women's basketball program at the University of New Mexico. She joined the Lobos in 2024 and played an integral role in the program's strength and conditioning efforts.

"We're excited to welcome Emily to our Wildcat family," said Burke. "Her experience working directly with women's basketball student-athletes, combined with her energy, passion and commitment to player development, makes her a tremendous addition to our staff. Emily understands what it takes to help athletes perform at their highest level, and we're excited about the impact she'll have on our program."

Prior to New Mexico, Meinert served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Louisiana Monroe, where she worked with women's basketball, softball, and men's and women's golf.

Meinert earned a master's degree in applied exercise science from ULM and served as a graduate assistant from July 2023 to August 2024. During her time in Monroe, she oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for women's basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball and tennis while assisting with football.

A former collegiate basketball student-athlete, Meinert played three seasons at Northern Illinois University. While competing for the Huskies, she also gained experience within the strength and conditioning department, assisting with daily operations and athlete development initiatives.

Before transferring to NIU, Meinert played two seasons at Parkland College, where she earned her associate's degree in 2020. She later completed her bachelor's degree at Northern Illinois in May 2022.
