TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats (6-3) dropped a back-and-forth affair to the New Mexico Lobos (6-3) by a final score of 5-4 on Wednesday night at Hi Corbett Field.

The Wildcats rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the sixth inning to score three runs and take their first lead of the night. However, the Lobos gathered a three-run rally of their own in the top of the ninth to secure a 5-4 victory.

Arizona left fielder
Donta Williams flashed some leather with a diving catch in the outfield and also finished the night 1-for-3 at the plate. His two-run single in the bottom of the sixth gave the Wildcats a 4-2 lead.

Quinn Flanagan got the start for Arizona and turned in 3.1 innings of one-run work. Flanagan allowed just one hit and struck out two in his second outing of the season – he did not factor into the decision.
