BERKELEY, Calif. - The Arizona Women's Tennis team was defeated by Cal Friday afternoon, 7-0.Â
The Cats started off strong winning the first doubles match thanks to
Marie Van Aelst and
Talya Zandberg on court three, 6-3. They dropped the match on court two and then the pairing of
Sophia Thomas and
Emma Wilson battled hard but Cal's number one duo proved victorious, 7-5.Â
Wilson matched up against the No. 25 ranked player in the nation, Julia Rosenqvist, and took her all the way to the third set but Rosenqvist came out on top, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.Â
Arizona is back in action tomorrow against Stanford at 12 p.m. MST.Â
