TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 14 University of Arizona beach volleyball team is headed up north this week to take on the Huskies in Seattle. Arizona will compete against Washington on Friday March 29th at 10 a.m. MST and noon MST. The last time the teams met was last season when the Cats came out on top with a 3-2 victory at the Arizona Invitational.
 
Serving Up the Facts
Arizona jumped up to No. 14 in this week's AVCA poll. The Cats went 1-2 this weekend at the Seminole Beach Battle in Florida. They fell to No. 3 Florida State 4-1, and No. 10 Stetson by a close score of 3-2 in the first day of tournament play. They closed out the tournament with a 5-0 victory over Austin Peay.
 
"We did just about everything correctly in terms of preparation last week," said head coach Steve Walker. "We played at a very good level throughout the weekend and have really stayed true to our belief system of trying to improve every single week. I see nothing that is going to change that now. Our team chemistry and grittiness are some of our best qualities, and we are going as hard and playing as well in practice as this group ever has.  We are excited to get back out on the road and play to the best of our abilities."
 
SandCat Standouts
The pair of Natalie Anselmo and Madison Rigdon went undefeated this weekend in Florida. While the Cats went 1-2 as a team at the Seminole Beach Battle, Anselmo and Rigdon went 3-0, including the team's single victory in their 4-1 loss to No. 3 Florida State. The junior and graduate student duo is currently 7-0 this season.
