PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Arizona men's golf program concluded the first round of The Goodwin Thursday afternoon. After 18-holes, the Cats are tied in 17
th with a score of 295 (+15). Sophomore
Trevor Werbylo led the Cats scorecard, finishing the first day tied in 7
th, shooting a 69.
Werbylo's first round score was his 18
th round under par and his 8
th round under 70 this season. The Tucson local tallied five birdies, on holes 1,7,13,15,16, and made par nine times throughout the 18 holes.
"I played a solid round today," commented Werbylo. "The course is playing trough so it was important to stay patient, which I feel like I did well and will continue to do."
Junior
Brad Reeves tabbed a 73 in day one of The Goodwin to put him in a tie for 46
th. Senior
Ethan Marcus was one stroke behind Reeves, scoring a 74 for a tie in 52
nd.
Other scores for the Cats included a 79 (+9) for
Drake Mendenhall (T-120) and an 80 (+10) from
David Laskin (T-125).
