TUCSON, Ariz. -- The No. 13 Arizona Wildcats took down both Ottawa (AZ) and Santa Clara 5-0 on the first day of the Wildcat Spring Challenge. Today's victories mark win No. 102 in program history as they earned their 100th program victory against the Sun Devils last weekend in Tempe. The Cats' win over Santa Clara also marks their 3rd win against the Broncos. 

"I thought we handled business pretty well today", said head coach Steve Walker. "It was a very short week of practice, maybe not our best week of practice, but I felt like we did such a good job sticking to the things we do well." 

The Sand Cats are back in action tomorrow to continue the Wildcat Spring Challenge as they take on New Mexico at 10:15 a.m. MST, then Santa Clara at 1:00 p.m. MST. We will also be holding a Senior Day ceremony Saturday from 12:30-12:40 p.m. MST at Bear Down Beach to honor our four seniors Jordan Abalos, Ainise Havili, Mia Mason, and Madison Rigdon.

"I want to make sure that we come out prepared to play against a determined New Mexico team," Coach Walker added regading day 2 of tournament play. "It is always a battle when we play them, so I just want to make sure we send the seniors off right."
