FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field traveled to Flagstaff, Ariz. to compete at NAU Tune Up on Friday. Out of the five athletes that made the trip, three came away with wins in their events.

Highlights
The highlight of the day was Israel Oloyede's impressive weight throw mark of 22.34m (73-3.5), which secures him as the new school record holder and places him sixth in the NCAA. The all-time men's weight throw record was previously held by Jordan Young at a mark of 21.81m (71-6.75).

"To be honest, I wasn't all that surprised by Israel's performance," said throws coach T.J. Crater. "He's been chipping away at some big throws in practice, but I'm very excited and feel a lot better going into conference championships knowing he's already locked up nationals."

Aoife Martin won the women's weight throw with a mark of 18.50m (60-8.5).

"I feel great about Aoife going into conference championships," said coach Crater. "She didn't have a throw under 18 meters today, which I am very excited about. She has very good momentum and is setting herself up for a big weekend in Seattle."

Pjai Austin won the long jump competition with a jump of 7.48m (24-6.5). This is Austin's fourth long jump win of the season.

Jordan Spradlin placed fourth in the shot put and Matthew Treston finished ninth in the 60m dash.

"I was very encouraged and excited by how the whole crew performed today," said coach Crater. "It was a great meet."

The Wildcats will be back in action on February 28-29 as they head to Seattle, Wash. for the MPSF Championships.
