FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Day 2 of the Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Men's and Women's Diving Championships wrapped up on Thursday in Federal Way, Wash.
Top Performances
The 200 free relay team finished 4th in the finals with a time of 1:29.16 (
Kayla Filipek,
Alayna Connor,
Jamie Stone, and
Taylor Nations). Two Wildcat women were able to win their consolation finals later in the evening with
Kirsten Jacobsen winning the 500 free with a time of 4:37.91 and
Alayna Connor taking the 50 free with a time of 22.36.
Fantastic Freshman
In their first career Pac-12 championships, the freshman have certainly held their own. Diver
Bjorn Markentin finished third for the second night in a row, this time in the 1-meter. Diver
Gracie Sleeman placed 6th in her 1-meter with a score of 299.25.
Axana Merckx finished 3rd in the consolation final for the 200 IM.
