Sophomore
Kirsten Prelle defeated the No. 84 player in the country, Emily Maxfield with a score of 6-0, 6-0. Prelle looks to take the momentum of this match onto the road for the weeks ahead, as Pac-12 play will begin on Mar. 8 against Oregon.
Arizona started with a strong lead in both matches by winning the doubles point. Early on Wilkins set the tone for the match as she won 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot in the line-up against Montana. The race was on to see who would clinch the match first as juniors
Talya Zandberg and
Gitte Heynemans were ahead in their second sets when Iglupas clinched the match.
"We handled old teams very well today," head coach Stotland said. "I thought we played the way we practice and we implemented our practice today. I think we're doing a much better job and we are getting better each day. Looking forward to the matches ahead!"
