Arizona women's tennis is proud to feature alum Carolyn Whallon Leach who played from 1965-1969. In 1969 Leach graduated as the Outstanding Sportswoman. Leach is currently retired and resides in Laguna Woods.  

After college, Leach coached tennis for five years at The Santa Catalina School in Monterrey, Calif. and then at Chadwick School in Palos Verdes for over 30 years. Leach was recently inducted into the Chadwick School Hall of Fame. 

During her time at Arizona, Leach participated in a variety of sports other than tennis.

"I think back very fondly of my time in college at Arizona," Leach said. "Most of my time was spent studying and competing on the tennis, basketball, and field hockey teams. That does not happen these days with the specialization and amount of time it takes to compete in even one sport." 

  Leach was also in a sorority which also kept her busy. Leach says she loved living in a desert environment like Tucson.
