WACO, Texas - The newcomers for the Arizona Wildcats battled hard and found success in their first tournament of the fall season. Several Cats earned their first wins of the season on the second day of the Baylor Invite, while others played against their first ranked opponents of the year.

Freshman Parker Fry snagged her first singles win of the year in an afternoon match against Baylor's Zamburek in a three-set brawl. Fry would go on to pick up two more singles win over the course of the tournament to end with the most singles wins on the team. Fellow freshman and doubles partner Belen Nevenhoven finished the tournament with two singles wins. 

Graduate transfer Salma Ziouti battled top-tier competition in the tournament with two singles matches coming against ranked opponents. Ziouti finished with two singles wins and two doubles wins to conclude her tournament. Senior Kirsten Prelle also faced a ranked opponent on her way to two singles and doubles wins in her time at the tournament.

The Cats will compete next at the USC Invite on Friday, Oct. 8 in their second fall tournament of the season.
