TUCSON, Ariz. – Both Sam Thomas and Aari McDonald were named candidates for the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award on Monday. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
 
Thomas and McDonald represent two of the four Pac-12 student-athletes to be named on the list of 30 candidates. The candidates will be narrowed to two fields of ten finalists in late February.
 
Both Thomas and McDonald are exceling on and off the court as they are both on their way to earning masters degrees while being two of the cornerstones of the Arizona women's basketball program.
