TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (11-4) dropped the first matchup of a two-game set against the Air Force Falcons (6-5) on a final score of 5-2 on Saturday night at Hi Corbett Field.
Despite turning in one of his best outings of the young season, Arizona starting pitcher
Garrett Irvin (0-1) was saddled with the loss. He worked a season-high 5.2 innings and allowed three runs on three hits while striking out three.
The Wildcats offense was stifled in the early innings and didn't pick up their first hit until a
Daniel Susac double in the sixth inning.
Tony Bullard drove in Susac on an RBI triple to put Arizona on the board, and
Donta Williams followed with an RBI single to account for their second and final run of the night.
