FRISCO, Texas — The Arizona Wildcats (7-2) scored 16 runs between the fourth and seventh innings to beat the Oklahoma Sooners (4-4) by a score of 20-13 in the opening game of the Frisco College Baseball Classic on Thursday afternoon.
The Wildcats found themselves down 9-3 after three innings, but went on to out-score the Sooners 17-4 over the final 2/3 of the game to earn the come-from-behind win. Every member of the Arizona starting lineup notched at least one base hit and seven of nine starters drove in multiple runs.
Right fielder
Blake Paugh led the offensive onslaught by collecting a career-high four hits, three of which went for extra bases, and three RBI. Left fielder
Mac Bingham hit his first home run of the season and third baseman
Jacob Berry checked in with the second dinger of his freshman campaign.
Second baseman
Kobe Kato achieved a rare feat on Thursday, scoring five runs for the first time since
