Distance Crew to Compete at Antelope Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona's distance crew is set to travel to Phoenix, Ariz. to compete at the Antelope Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Grand Canyon University.

Competition will begin for the Wildcats at 4:20 p.m. MST, opening with Alisa Lyesina in the women's 800m. Shem Kemboi, Victor Ortiz-Rivera, Galvin Curley and Brandon Bounds will run in the last race of the day, competing in the 5k at 9:10 p.m. Live results will be posted here.

Among the teams who will be competing at the meet are Arizona State, Colorado, NAU and Weber State.

Coming straight off of the cross country season, the distance squad opened up the outdoor season at home at the Willie Williams Classic on March 19 and 20. Shem Kemboi won the men's 5k, leading the Wildcats who swept the top five spots. On the women's side, Bailey Johnson picked up the event win. Lyesina was our top finisher in the 1500m with a time of 4:41.39 and Timothy Kibet also clocked a PR in the event.
