TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona distance runner
Lawi Ngetich has been named Big 12 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, as announced today by the Conference.
Ngetich won the men's 800m last Saturday at the Dual in the Desert, clocking a personal best time of 1:46.50. Ngetich's personal best currently ranks second in the Big 12 and fourth in the NCAA. He is also currently ranked the #1 freshman in the NCAA in the 800m.
This is the freshman's first conference accolade.
The Wildcats will next be in action for the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, CA., on April 16-18.
