TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (35-13, 19-8) hit four home runs and received spectacular bullpen work to secure an 11-2 win and finish off a series sweep of the Washington Huskies (17-27, 3-18) on Sunday morning.
Branden Boissiere (5),
Ryan Holgate (8),
Jacob Berry (13), and
Tony Bullard (1) all homered for the Cats in the rout. Holgate's eight home runs this year are a career high and Berry's 13 lead the team.
The Arizona offense put up 11 runs on 11 hits and just one walk, with three players chipping in multi-hit performances. Berry and Boissiere both drove in three runs to fuel the Wildcats 22nd game scoring in double digits.
The Wildcats bullpen was stout all afternoon, with
Gil Luna,
Dawson Netz, and
Quinn Flanagan combining to allow just one unearned run on three hits while striking out five. Luna (1-0) earned the win after working a career-high 4.0 innings with just two hits, no runs, and three strikeouts.
