TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field hosted the annual Tucson Elite Throws Classic on Thursday where Israel Oloyede and Jordan Geist competed in the men's hammer throw and shot put. 

Oloyede improved his career PR and school record hammer throw mark, tossing 73.22m (240-2). Oloyede is coming off of a third place finish in the Pac-12 Championships where he threw for 71.30m (233-11).

Geist competed in both the shot put and hammer throw contests on Thursday. He finished second in the B section of the men's hammer with a mark of 70.33m (230-9). He also threw for 19.89m (65-3.75) in the shot put. At the Pac-12 Championships, Geist claimed his third shot put title with a season-best mark of 20.35m (66-9.25) and finished runner-up in the hammer with a PR of 71.78m (235-6).

Geist and Oloyede will be back at Drachman on Saturday for the USATF Throws Festival. Oloyede will compete in the hammer throw at 3:30 p.m. MST and Geist will appear in the shot put at 6:30 p.m. Justice Summerset will also be competing in the high jump at 6:30 p.m.. Summerset won the Pac-12 men's high jump title with a mark of 2.20m (7-2.5).
