EUGENE, Ore. – Shannon Meisberger and Samantha Noennig kicked off competition for the women's side at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. on Thursday where Noennig earned First-Team All-America honors and Meisberger secured her lane in Saturday's 400m hurdle finals.

Meisberger entered the meet with the sixth fastest 400mH time of 56.61, set at the Jim Click Shootout. She ran just above the PR time, clocking 56.63 to finish second in her heat and third overall, sending her to the finals. She will race again on Saturday at 4:27 p.m.

Noennig put the first points on the board for the women, finishing seventh in the shot put. She threw for 17.26m (56-7.5) on her fourth attempt to score two points. Her top-8 finish earns her First-Team All-America accolades. 

The men will take the stage again tomorrow along with Skylar Sieben who will kick off the first day of the heptathlon. She will get the Cats started at noon followed by Justice Summerset in the high jump at 4:30 and the men's 4x400 relay at 7:20. The full schedule of events can be found here.
