Jacob Berry have all been selected to the ABCA West All-Region First Team, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The Wildcats are the only program in the West Region with three players tabbed to the First Team. This marks the third time under head coach
Jay Johnson that Arizona has placed multiple players on the ABCA West All-Region First Team (2016, 2017) and the sixth, seventh, and eighth players to earn the honor under his leadership.
Williams, who is among the most talented outfielders in the country, enjoyed a breakout season in 2021. At the plate he notched a career-high .352 batting average and added 80 runs, 16 doubles, three triples, eight home runs, and 48 RBI. His 80 runs paced the Pac-12 and rank second among all Division I players this year. In the field, the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honoree posted a .973 fielding percentage on 146 chances with one outfield assist.
Susac, Arizona's everyday starting catcher, performed at an elite level both at and behind the plate all year as a freshman. Offensively, he hit .329 with 47 runs scored, 34 extra-base hits, and 61 RBI. On defense, Susac posted a remarkable .996 fielding percentage and threw out 9-of-30 attempted base stealers.
Berry, a prolific designated hitter, tore through the Wildcats schedule to the tune of a .359 batting average with 53 runs, 18 doubles, five triples, 17 home runs, and 70 RBI. His 17 home runs lead the team and rank second in the Pac-12, while his 70 RBI pace the circuit.
ABCA All-Region First Team selections are nominated for ABCA All-America honors. The ABCA NCAA Div. I All-American teams will be announced on Saturday, June 19.
