HUNGARY - Arizona women's basketball has yet another gold medal winner this as Lauren Ware helped the United States take gold at the U19 World Cup.
 
Ware finished the tournament averaging 5.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and a block per game while shooting 57% from the field. She did work on the offensive boards, averaging over two a game, including four in the Gold Medal Game. Ware's top scoring performance came in the Round of 16 when she scored 11 points on 5-6 shooting from the field vs. Chinese Tapiei.
 
Also playing in the U19 World Cup was incoming freshman Gisela Sanchez, who competed for Spain.
 
Sanchez helped the Spaniards finish in seventh place, averaging 6.6 points, 3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 43% from the field. She scored in double-figures three times, including a tournament-high 13 points with two made three-pointers in the quarterfinals vs. the United States. She also had a seven-point, eight-rebound performance in group phase vs. Brazil.
