TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Men's Golf graduate
David Laskin continues his impressive haul of academic awards from his standout senior season. Laskin was named a CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American on Friday morning, becoming the first member of the program to win the highest academic honor in 30 years.
The Elk Grove, California native was also the 2020-21 Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year, a member of the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and part of CoSIDA's Academic All-District Team after completing a fifth season with the Wildcats after utilizing the NCAA's extended eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also Arizona Men's Golf's first Academic All-American since Trev Anderson in 1991.
Laskin was a key member of Arizona's 2021 Pac-12 Championship team as it captured its first conference title since 2004. His season low, a round of 66, came in the final round of the Pac-12 Championships to help secure the conference crown.
The fifth-year senior leaves the program with a degree in Finance as well as 165 career rounds played, which ranks in the top 20 in program history. He capped his career by earning the Tom Hansen Medal from the Pac-12 Conference, which is awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.
