Tucson, Ariz. - The Wildcats started off their weekend at home with a 6-1 win over NAU. Arizona now leads the series between the two programs 24-0.
The Cats secured the doubles point to put them at a 1-0 lead before singles play. Kayla Wilkins and Kirsten Prelle were first off the court with a 6-1 win against Sofia Markova and Elinor Beazley. Finalizing the doubles point for Arizona was Parker Fry and Khim Iglupas after defeating Laura Duhl and Annabel Davis 6-1.
The Wildcats dominated in singles play with Midori Castillo sweeping Markova 6-0 in two straight sets to grab the first singles of the day. Prelle took the second singles point after defeating Duhl 6-1 in two straight sets. Fry finalized the win for Arizona after she won 6-1, 6-2 against Ava Neyestani.
Salma Ziouti won her match 6-1, 6-3 against Gina Dittmann and Iglupas took the last singles point for the Cats after defeating Beazley 6-3 in two straight sets.
Arizona is now 5-2 going into their second home match of the weekend against San Jose State on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at 11 a.m.
