Montgomery, Ala. - Arizona dropped a tough 4-1 loss to Texas Tech in the first round of Blue Gray. The Cats bounced back in round two after defeating Troy University 4-0.
Kayla Wilkins won the only point for Arizona in round one after she defeated Olivia Peet 6-4 in two straight sets.
The Cats walked away with the doubles point and three singles points in their match up against Troy. Wilkins and Kirsten Prelle finished first for doubles and Parker Fry and Khim Iglupas finalized the win for the Wildcats.
Wilkins won her singles match 6-3, 6-0 against Anastasiia Khokhlova and Midori Castillo defeated Michelle Ncube in a 6-0, 6-1 sweep. Fry won her singles match in two straight sets 6-2 against Hagar Amin.
Arizona will face off against University of Alabama tomorrow afternoon on Saturday, Feb. 26 for the third and final round of Blue Gray.
