Tucson, Ariz. - No. 44 Arizona battled to the very last set against No. 33 Washington before ultimately losing 4-3. 

Washington clinched the doubles point after Kirsten Prelle and Kayla Wilkins finished 4-6 on court two against Nika Zupancic and Kelly Leung. Midori Castillo and Belen Nevenhoven won their match 6-3 against Sarah-Maude Fortin and Yolanda Lin. Parker Fry and Khim Iglupas dropped their match 4-6 to Vanessa Wong and Hikaru Sato. 

The Wildcats took three of singles points in today's match. Salma Ziouti put the Cats on the board after defeating Vanessa Wong in two straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Iglupas was next after she beat Kelly Leung 6-3, 7-6(7-4). 

Three of the singles matches for the Cats went into three fierce sets. Wilkins dropped her match to Fortin 4-6, 6-1, 3-6. Fry defeated Sato 2-6, 7-6(7-0), 7-5 to tie the overall score 3-3. 

Castillo fought every second of her three sets, the first two being back-to-back tiebreakers 6-7(1-6), 7-6(7-3). She fell to Zupancic 4-6 in the final set. 

This was the first match the women lost at home. They are now 8-3 going into tomorrow's doubleheader. 

Arizona will host the rescheduled Washington State match Sunday, March 6 at 11 a.m., and in the evening the Cats play Colorado State at Tucson Country Club at 5:30 p.m.
