STREAKONOMICS: Outfielder Tanner O'Tremba has reached base safely in 26 consecutive games, the longest active streak on the team and the longest on-base streak of his career. Over the course of his 26-game streak, O'Tremba has posted a .333 batting average (35-for-105) and a .440 on-base percentage. In the last 26 games he has logged nine multi-hit performances and reached base multiple times on 16 occasions. Arizona's longest on-base streak this year belongs to outfielder Mac Bingham, who earned his way on base in 33 straight games from March 8–May 3. Infielders Tony Bullard (14 games) and Nik McClaughry (10 games) also both sport extended on-base streaks. No player on the team currently has a hit streak longer than four games.

PLAYING ONLY THE HITS: Catcher Daniel Susac and outfielder Tanner O'Tremba have both been among the most consistent hitters in America this season. Susac's 78 hits lead the conference and rank tied for sixth most among all Division I players, while O'Tremba's 74 base knocks are second in the Pac-12 and tied for 17th in the country. Susac is just three hits shy of tying his mark of 81 from his historical freshman campaign in 2021. Both Susac (28) and O'Tremba (21) collect hits in bunches, having combined for 49 multi-hit performances this year. Susac has more multi-hit games (28) than he does zero- or one-hit performances (22).

DOUBLE TROUBLE: The Wildcats defense has excelled at twin killings this season, having turned a conference-best 49 doubles plays in 50 games. In addition to leading the Pac-12 (next: Oregon, 44), Arizona's 49 doubles plays are currently tied for the fourth most among all 293 Division I programs. The Cats have averaged 0.98 double plays per game, the fifth-best mark for any Arizona team since 1996 (first: 2009, 1.07). Shortstop Nik McClaughry has played a large part in the Wildcats double-play prowess and currently leads the Pac-12 with 155 defensive assists this season. McClaughry played a part in 34-of-49 double plays turned by the Ariozna defense this year, the third-best individual mark in the Pac-12 and just ahead of teammate and second baseman Garen Caulfield (32).

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE: With a healthy roster and everyone playing in their natural positions, the Arizona defense has improved as of late. The Wildcats went strung together two separate five-game errorless streaks in recent weeks, the first coming April 12–18 and the second currently active since May 1. These streaks are the program's longest error-free streaks since the 2015 squad strung together seven consecutive flawless defensive performances April 4-19, 2015 against USC, Arizona State, and Oregon State. Outfielder Tanner O'Tremba has been a steady defensive hand for the Wildcats, starting 46 games in the outfield and posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 89 chances. Freshman Tommy Splaine, who has started 33 games between first base (26 games) and catcher (7 games), has logged a sparkling .993 fielding percentage on 281 chances. Daniel Susac, Arizona's everyday starting catcher, leads the team with 359 defensive chances this year and has posted a .986 fielding percentage.

EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT: Through 50 games, the Arizona offense has combined to swat 170 extra-base hits, the second-best mark in the Pac-12. The Wildcats are currently averaging 3.4 extra-base hits per game, with outfielder Tanner O'Tremba (28), catcher Daniel Susac (27), and outfielder Chase Davis (26) leading the way. Arizona has taken advantage of the large dimensions at Hi Corbett Field since moving there in 2012 — in the decade-plus since the move off campus the Wildcats hold the Pac-12 lead with 1,831 extra-base hits (second: Stanford, 1,679). During that stretch Arizona has paced the conference in doubles six times and triples five times.

HOME SWEET HOME: Since Arizona Baseball moved to Hi Corbett Field for the 2012 season, the Wildcats have enjoyed a tremendous home field advantage. Over those 10+ seasons, Arizona has posted a record of 244-103, winning games at a .703 clip. Their home winning percentage over that stretch is the second best mark in the conference.
