TUCSON, Ariz. — Former Arizona Baseball standout and member of the 2021 College World Series team,
Chase Silseth, earned his first career Major League call-up and made his debut with the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night.
Silseth, who got the start for the Angels against the Oakland Athletics, became the 89th Wildcat in MLB history and the first member of the 2021 MLB Draft class to make their Major League debut.

The right-hander found historic level of success in his debut, working six scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. He earned the win as the Angels took the series opener from the A's, 2-0.

Silseth recorded his first Major League strikeout in the opening frame and went on to fan four A's.

During his one season in Tucson, Silseth worked as the Wildcats Friday night starter and helped lead the program to their 18th College World Series. Across 18 starts he earned an 8-1 record with a 5.55 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 97.1 innings.
