SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (36-22) dropped their second game at the Pac-12 Tournament on Thursday evening, a 15-8 decision against the Stanford Cardinal (39-14).
The top five batters in the Wildcats lineup picked up 11 hits, two walks, all eight of Arizona's runs, and five RBI. The group was led by third baseman
Tony Bullard, who drove in three RBI, and right fielder
Tanner O'Tremba, who collected three hits and his ninth home run of the season.
Starting pitcher
Garrett Irvin worked 4.1 innings for the Wildcats and struck out a pair of Stanford batters. He took the loss to move to 5-4 on the year.
Arizona and Arizona State are now bound to an elimination game set for tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. MST. The season series between the Wildcats and Sun Devils is tied at 2-2.
