Cats Fall to Trojans in Finale, 8-5

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Arizona Wildcats (33-17, 14-10) dropped an 8-5 decision in their series finale against the USC Trojans (24-21, 8-16) on Sunday afternoon at Dedeaux Field.

Third baseman Tony Bullard hammered a go-ahead three-run double in the fifth and Chase Davis hit his 14th home run of the season in the loss. 

Starting pitcher Anthony Susac worked 2.1 innings for the Wildcats and did not factor into the decision. 

Right-handers Quinn Flanagan (1.0 IP), Chandler Murphy (0.2 IP), and George Arias Jr. (0.1 IP) all worked scoreless outings from the Arizona bullpen.

  • Chase Davis' first inning home run was his team-leading 14th of the year. He is one HR shy of tying the Pac-12 leaders.
