SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Esmery Martinez and Helena Pueyo attained All-Pac-12 preseason accolades for the 2023-24 season, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Martinez was placed on the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team after being named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention at the conclusion of the 2022-23 year. The fifth-year crossed the 1000 points and 1000 rebounds thresholds in her senior season with the Wildcats and averaged 8.6 rebounds per game alongside 10.5 points per game. Her 274 rebounds during the year are the eighth-most in a single season in program history. Martinez started all 32 games and totaled eight double-doubles throughout the course of the year.
Pueyo tabbed Preseason All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention laurels. In her senior year, Pueyo was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team and led Arizona in steals with 2.3 per game. She was additionally the Pac-12's leader in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.6. Pueyo was the team leader in blocks, tallying 21 on the season, and grabbed at least one steal in 30 of the Wildcats' 32 games in 2022-23.
Arizona begins the 2023-24 season with a home exhibition Wednesday, Oct. 25 as it welcomes West Texas A&M to McKale Center.
