TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats unofficially open the 2023-24 track and field season on Friday with their intrasquad Red-White-Blue Challenge at Drachman Stadium. For the competition, the team has been split into three groups, who will go up against one another for team bragging rights. The White Team has won the last two intrasquad competitions.

The meet begins at 1:00 p.m. MST on Friday with the men's and women's hammer throw. Running events will begin at 3:00 p.m. MST with the men's and women's 4x100m relay. Live results for all events will be posted on X (@ArizonaTrack). The meet provides an opportunity for competition before the official indoor season starts on January 12 with the NAU Friday Night Axe'em Open in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Newcomers to the team this year were drafted earlier in the season on to either the Red, White or Blue Team by their team captains and they will remain on these teams for their entire Wildcat career. The top three picks this year were
